Small Changes, Large results - 13th September, 2021

Our life is so much surrounded by routine. From morning to night- we follow a particular set of events. Brush our teeth, go to the toilet, eat breakfast etc. We follow these routines to the bone.

These routines are very sweetly called our habits. Our habits certainly make us who we are. Our personality is very much informed by these habits.

We can go all of our life without changing them, but there comes the point in our life where our current habits can no longer be viable for our future. Then the question arises: How do we change our practices?

Luckily, changing habits is relatively easy. We don’t have to make significant changes to our life. We just have to make small changes over an extensive period of time. The consistency of maintaining these small habits will be challenging, but that too, well- is part of the challenge.

When it comes to fitness, cultivating these small habits are very important- The food you eat, the sleep you get, the amount of exercise that you do and the hydration that you get all line your fitness journey.

When it comes to food, it can seem daunting- how do I change my bad eating habits? All you have to do is change one thing. You know your weaknesses; if it is sweets, try removing the last and first build a routine where eliminating sweets from your diet becomes more effortless.

When we talk about sleep, we want more of it and less of it at the same time. Sleep is essential, but we never seem to get enough of it. Our sleeping habits as a generation are very unhealthy. Instead of staying up late on our phone till 2, we can reduce it to 1 and so on and so forth. Small changes.

When you start working out, just do it for 15 mins a day and then move on to bigger goals.

Life is never about big changes. It is always about the minute ones.

These small changes become huge over time, and you start to see a change in yourself. This is the path to success that you have paved for yourself.

Habit change is not difficult, but it does require time and patience. These small changes end up making you into a large person. Time will pass anyway, what you do with the time given to you- that is important.
